A Guide to the Gears

We recommend beach cruisers with at least 3 gears, however if you live in a fairly flat area or are only planning short rides a single speed bike will be great. Cruisers usually come in Single, Three or Seven Speeds.

Cruisers used to be big, heavy, clunking contraptions but you'll find all our bikes are much lighter than the old style and easy to handle.

For longer journeys and hilly terrains. They can get you up and over any hill which means there's nothing to stop you commuting to work, carrying your shopping home in a cute wicker basket, exploring your local area on weekend adventures, or hopping off with your sweetheart or the kids on cycling holidays.

See your fitness improve remarkably quickly as you challenge yourself on hills - you may start in 7th but within just a couple of weeks you'll be tackling them in 4th!

3 gears is a very practical number for most journeys. You'll get super fit very quickly if you're hitting hills regularly, but the 3rd gear will save you from having to hop off and push your push bike.

Perfect for beach rides, mainly flat terrain and short trips out and about. Our single speed cruisers are geared perfectly so you don't feel the strain too much, but nor will you be pedalling at a mad pace to cover distance. You'll probably have to pedal standing up on hills, but your thighs will be beautiful!!!
